If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat
by John Ortberg

Winner of the 2002 Christianity Today Book Award! You're One Step Away from the Adventure of Your Life Deep within you lies the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the wind-swept Sea of Galilee toward Jesus. In what ways is the Lord telling you, as he did Peter, "Come"? John Ortberg invites you to consider the incredible potential that awaits you outside your comfort zone. Out on the risky waters of faith, Jesus is waiting to meet you in ways that will change you forever, deepening your character and your trust in God. The experience is terrifying. It's thrilling beyond belief. It's everything you'd expect of someone worthy to be called Lord. The choice is yours to know him as only a water-walker can, aligning yourself with God's purpose for your life in

The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus

The Case for Christ records Lee Strobel's attempt to "determine if there's credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God." The book consists primarily of interviews between Strobel (a former legal editor at the Chicago Tribune) and biblical scholars such as Bruce Metzger. Each interview is based on a simple question, concerning historical evidence (for example, "Can the Biographies of Jesus Be Trusted?"), scientific evidence, ("Does Archaeology Confirm or Contradict Jesus' Biographies?"), and "psychiatric evidence" ("Was Jesus Crazy When He Claimed to Be the Son of God?"). Together, these interviews compose a case brief defending Jesus' divinity, and urging readers to reach a verdict of their own.

Jesus Christ, M.D.
Reviewer from Henryville, Indiana United States

This book delivers an awesome message. One every Christian should know. It deals with Jesus Christ as our healer! Today there are so many sick and dying, and yet we as Christians dont even know how to have the VICTORY over disease. We are so ignorant when it comes to the bible. I truely believe we have not even scratched the surface of its(the bible) meaning to us as believers. This book really brings the POWER of the bible and Christ to a new level. Trust, Belief, and Faith to deliver those who are in urgent need of healing. Everything is backed up by scripture for you to look at yourself. Its very easy quick reading and easy to understand. This book takes the verse in IJohn 4:4 "Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world" and shows us how to apply it to our lives and have the victory over all that the devil throws at us. This is such an encourageing book for those needing healing!! The only thing that could make it better are personal testimonies, thats why I did not give it a 5 rating. All believers should read, know and live this book...

The Healing touch of Jesus
Reviewer from Bonita Springs, FL USA

This is a powerful book. Dr. Lee has managed to give the reader the opportunity to truly experience the "healing touch of Jesus". Because of the interactive format, it invites one to look at his own illness with the hope that only faith can provide. I highly recommend this book because it empowers one to find a path to healing through the power of Christ.

The Jesus Walk
Reviewer from UK

This book provides insights into the healing ministry by telling the story of Patricia's own experiences, and by her sharing tips and suggestions in a more teacher-student kind of way. This swapping between styles can be confusing at times, but there is enough "quality" information to keep you reading to the end.

For me, this book was also an introduction to the Charismatic and Catholic ways of doing things, both of which are different to what I am used to. This is not the focus or aim of the book, just a consequence of the context of stories shared.

Perhaps the thing that surprised me most was how down to earth it all was, with regular reference to medical practice. The author is keen to show the vast array of ways in which God brings healing into people's lives. She explains that God wants to heal every part of a person's life, and that He will deal with different things in different ways.

If like me you have an interest in the healing ministry, but have little experience of it, this is a good book to read. I will be reading it again!

Healing: Christian Mandate
Reviewer from Tequesta, FL United States

In "Healing: Christian Mandate," Terry Webb carefully examines several of the stories of healing as told in the Gospels. She provides background to put the healings in the historical as well as social context of Biblical times.

Her vivid narrative style brings the stories to life for the reader. Each recounting of a healing is divided into the Narrative, the Healing Strategies of Christ, Modern Applications and Kingdom Dynamics. The author carefully examines each aspect and leads the reader to practical application for the 21st century. The book concludes with several study questions designed to help the reader explore further aspects of prayer, faith and healing.

I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in faith and prayer as a means of healing and restoration. Individuals in need of wholeness, prayer groups, ministers, lay workers, recovery and 12 Step groups will all find this book to be of great value.

Healing Words From Jesus
Editorial Review

Rev. Powers helps "negate the negatives" so that readers may grow in closer union with Jesus and allow his healing power to have its effect on their lives. This book offers the everyday Catholic a wholesome spirituality on a flesh and blood level.
