Epperly does a masterful job bringing together spirituality, medicine, science, and theology in a book that is honest, practical and lively. Filled with stories of real people with real pain, Epperly brings hope alive through a rediscovery of the healings of Jesus. Written from the perspective of process theology, Epperly goes beyond the usual dualist approachs of our Western culture by offering a wholistic vision for Christians who long for a fresh, practical, and biblically sound approach. Not only does he deal with the hard questions that surround suffering, but he offers practical "Experiments in Healing and Wholeness" at the end of each chapter. A book about healing that begins us on the road to healing even while we are reading the book! A masterful work!

This book provides insights into the healing ministry by telling the story of Patricia's own experiences, and by her sharing tips and suggestions in a more teacher-student kind of way. This swapping between styles can be confusing at times, but there is enough "quality" information to keep you reading to the end.

For me, this book was also an introduction to the Charismatic and Catholic ways of doing things, both of which are different to what I am used to. This is not the focus or aim of the book, just a consequence of the context of stories shared.

Perhaps the thing that surprised me most was how down to earth it all was, with regular reference to medical practice. The author is keen to show the vast array of ways in which God brings healing into people's lives. She explains that God wants to heal every part of a person's life, and that He will deal with different things in different ways.

If like me you have an interest in the healing ministry, but have little experience of it, this is a good book to read. I will be reading it again!

I have always considered myself a healthy person. I watch what I eat and I exercise daily. I also consider myself a pretty stressed individual.
